During my recent New Year getaway at Pousada Joao Maria, I found a lovely blend of comfort and charm, perfect for my explorations around Trancoso. The rooms, each boasting a balcony, provided a peaceful spot to reflect on the day after cycling along the stunning coastlines. I particularly enjoyed the daily buffet breakfast, a great way to fuel up before my adventures to beautiful Rio da Barra Beach, just a short ride away. Housekeeping was perfect, ensuring a clean and welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. With the Cultural House of Trancoso nearby, it was a delight to immerse myself in local history and culture. And for those longer excursions, the shuttle service made getting around a breeze. All in all, this pousada offered a wonderful retreat, echoing my love for history while accommodating my travel style perfectly.
